Why private verification exists

Men-free spaces only stay men-free if someone confirms a real person is behind the profile. Fake accounts, stolen photos, and cis men posing as women destroy trust fast. Bind uses a private selfie plus a short realness clip so nearby stays for verified queer women and enby members - without forcing you onto a livestream your housemates could walk in on.

What others see

Matches never see your verification selfie or clip. Your phone number is not shown on your profile. Other members only see what you choose to publish - photos you add for dating, bio, and badges that mean you passed a private check, not a public performance.

What the check does and does not prove

The private check confirms a live person matches your private verification face (not your public profile gallery). Closeted members can keep a faceless, body-only, or empty grid — you do not need a face on your public photos. Bind's Trust Engine also looks at risk signals such as duplicate-identity hints and abuse patterns. It is not government ID / KYC and does not prove your legal name, address, or documents. It does not classify gender from your face. High-confidence checks can finish automatically. If the video capture is unclear, you can retry immediately with lighting tips. Only unresolved cases after retries stay in a private review queue. Provider scores alone never grant a badge.

Hair, wigs, and presentation

Short hair, butch or stud presentation, wigs, makeup, and face changes from HRT are welcome. If a re-check scores low after a big look change, retry in good light or wait for private review — we never reject someone for "not looking like a woman." Cis men posing are handled through liveness, same-person checks, reports, and bans — not a gender detector.

What we delete

Attempt verification media is deleted after the check. A private verify face may be kept only for future re-checks and is never shown on your profile or to matches. Optional government ID images (never required to use Bind) stay private, are never shown to matches, and can be deleted on request or on the scheduled retention window in the privacy policy.

• Verify when you have a private room and time.
• You do not need a face on your public profile photos.
• Use a discreet home-screen icon if shoulder-surfing is a risk.
• Keep profile content intentional - less can be better until you trust someone.
